I offer a profound “thank you” to Fernanda Viveiros for her audacious dream of bringing this anthology to print, giving us all a book we can be proud of. I hope this little volume will travel far and wide, just like the Portuguese immigrants who have scattered throughout the globe, and be read by all who wish to see what we can accomplish when we dare to dream.
Audacious is my middle name! Thank you, Emanuel, and to all of the writers whose work is represented in this anthology. This may be the first book, but it won’t be the last!
It would be interesting to know which criteria has been adopted in selecting the “masterpieces” or was it simply a gathering of friendly plumitives?
Hello Tavarex,
The submissions were reviewed via a blind judging process (Professors Maria Joao Dodman and Hugh Hazelton) and care was chosen to select original works of literary and/or cultural merit.
